I decided to make my own animatronic head instead of hacking one. This is the first test of a design I am experimenting with.

Preview of Animatronic Caretaker

This is an initial test and preview of my animatronic caretaker/gravedigger for a haunted house (yard?) that I am planning for Halloween 2011. Needless to say, it was inspired by Disneyland's Haunted Mansion gravedigger.
My Own Enchanted Tiki Room Thanks to Squawkers McCaw

This is my ENTIRE Enchanted Tiki Room Show adaptation as of now. (BETTER VIDEO AND AUDIO THAN THE PREVIOUS SQUAWKERS VIDEO...Thanks Mindscape Productions!) I had to remove some parts of the original show since it was too long. I called my character "Juan Jose" since I am using the voice of the now retired original Barker Bird "Juan" as well as his cousin "Jose" the host of the Enchanted Tiki Ro...

Walt Disney's (WD) Pinocchio Marionette from Master Replicas' WD Showcase Collection. According to the Master Replica's (MR) Certificate of Authenticity: "After filming, the model of the marionette head was given to Bob Baker (BB), a well-known master puppeteer in LA whose work WD had seen and admired...WD even invited him to consider a puppet theater at Disneyland...MR approached him [BB] with...
Squawkers McCaw Becomes Tiki Room Character - Barker Bird (Version 4)
Просмотров 11 тыс.14 лет назад
This is the final VSA program version of my animatronic adaptation of the Enchanted Tiki Room Barker Bird Juan, Jose's cousin. Juan was an early feature of the show (or pre-show to be exact) but was subsequently removed. Both Juan and Jose's voice were given by Wally Boag. I will continue adding songs and features and posting them here.

My older brother and I used to dream about building our own tiki room. Now this is becoming a reality with the Squawkers Mccaw animatronic parrot. After I get all the motions working properly I'll put the skin back. For the controlling software I used the Visual Show Automation (VSA) 4.0. This software supports various control boards that you can use. I'll be posting more videos as I add more m...

Hi! This is incredible! I love it! I am trying to do the same thing at the moment and was wondering if there was a way we could connect via youtube messaging or email, etc. I have been wanting to build my own tiki room for years and was hoping you might have some advice, suggestions, or even a possible team up. I was just blown away by your work. So impressed! Thank you ever so kindly and All my very best! - apologies wasn't sure the best way to reach you. :)
Am I the only one here that thinks this is terrifying?
yes because i think it's cute
This is so much what I have always wanted to do. I have the show servo controllers. Do you have the wiring details that you would be willing to share?
Is it possible to get the wiring details for this. It is amazing and I am trying to do the same thing with my Squawkers. Thank you very much for any assistance.
I want this toy! I hope i get it for christmas and my daddy will turn it into a Walt Disney Tiki Room Animatronic. Do you agree, Dylan?
oh, ok then never mind.
Todd Wood, thanks for your comment. Where you able to figure out how to synch it right?
yes, but somtimes the eyes are half open, and it looks cool. a personality of sorts
If you run the mouth motor backwards the eyes blink. I used two relays as a flip flop circuit to do this.
Todd Wood i know this is the case, but i was never successful in stopping the motor exactly when the eye lids where completely open again. It was always a bit to short or a bit too long, and the eyelids would sometimes be half open.
I love this! I want to be an imagineer and I have a squawkers so I was wondering if you might be able to explain how you were able to re wire him? I want to fix mine as it doesn't make sounds any more, I think it had a burned out speaker. Thanks for any help.
Pirates of the Caribbean (Original Attraction Soundtrack) by Various Artists itun.es/us/WXiaJ
I think it was iTunes.
That is awesome! Where did you get the audio? We just got one of these parrot toys.
...I'm absolutely stunned; this is awesome!
Why not? Is the voice of the Pirates of the Caribbean talking parrot at Disneyland.
Why did you make Squawkers have a different voice?
Id like to know how you did this because id like to do it with mine.
Nice how did i do this? Can u tell me?
Nice he is cool i have one how did u change the voice???
awesome
that's super cool, wow
simple great
fantastic work !! wow
He needs a feather like 'skin' to make him less creepy!!!
That's way too expensive for me. But I hope for Christmas, Santa will soon find a way for that Pinocchio cost. I'll hope so.
I was just joking around. >.>
Beyond cool!!!! Great job! Now I want a pineapple whip!!!!!!!!!!! Dammit!
Don't be a hater because you have no talent or skill.
Brilliant!!
what controller and program do you use
.......................SPEECHLESS;)
Check out the Old El Paso Cemetery Channel to see this prop in action!
I wonder if the Walt Disney World Tiki Birds that were recently removed, could be added to Trader Sam's at Disneyland?
Looks like Yale Gracey, Master Disney FX Man, in the background at table.
@thecdonlon If you want to control the body-wings-head motions you need a baseline position. I used the integrated cam switch to do this by means of a little circuit.
@dstoreuk Thank you!
awsome just what i want to do to mine but how do youo do that can you program him to do that without basicly hacking is wires?
where can i get one of these?
I got it from Master Replicas via amazon
THATS AWESOME! WHERE DID YOU GET IT?
Will you please email me in detail how you did this. at blackops.team@yahoo.com I would love to do this. my family loves disneyland and i was hoping to make one of these for my mothers birthday. Thanks.
